DaySpring Daily Word of Inspiration: Psalm 107:1 – Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.
As we wrap up this week of searching and establishing our faith, we come to the part that is so simple and natural but overlooked when we think about how our faith works in our life outside of circumstances. In a brief statement I can say that this is true and I pray you’re in agreement with the facts:
Faith in God; who He is, what He has done, what He is currently doing, and what He ultimately will do stems from our eyes being opened to the truth in His word about our lives, his plan for our lives and how seamlessly His word directs every facet of our lives. When we embrace this revelation we essentially place our hope/faith in God, His power, His omnipotence, His omniscience, and His authority over our lives. This knowledge of truth compels us to see how much He has given us (whether it be in number of chances or life itself), that He is truly a good God, and He desires to be with us all in heaven.
Now if this is true and I wholeheartedly believe it is, how does it make you feel to know that the Creator of everything has went so far that he’s wrote you “the greatest love story ever told” so we could see His hurts for us, what He’s put up with for us, His faith in us, and lastly His unparalleled display of love for us in dying for us – just so we can have a relationship with Him again! Look at all He’s went through for us. Do you have a reason today to give him thanks, praise, glory and your worship today?
Today we pray that as you meditate on the passage above you are brought back to remembering the significance of why it is imperative that we give God his just due in thanks, praise and worship! God truly is and has been a good God to us all! Let this be your prayer and if you agree, mix your faith with the words you are about to read and give God thanks after you’re done:
I thank you right now Father for how good you have been to me. I have not deserved anything you have given me nor do I do all of the things you have commanded of me. However Father, I do recognize how much you went through to put up with my mess and even as I continue to fall short in exemplifying your perfection, I know you still love me. Thank you for not loving me as I know love or how I display it to others. Teach me to love deep, richly, and unfiltered like you, for in you, you let me know that you can still work with me – even in my filthiness. I praise you and thank you with lifted hands. As your love has never failed me, my I make a decision this day to never give up on loving you – for you have shown me how to endure every hurt imaginable; even death, as you experienced it all for me! THANK YOU! There is no god like you and you are the God of all. Thank you for being good to me and let me know stray far from thoughts of your goodness so I can ALWAYS be empowered to love you in obedience, sacrifice, dedication, and through all situations and circumstance. In Jesus’ name we pray, AMEN!
