DaySpring Daily Word of Inspiration: Romans 12:12 – rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer,
This week has been a great chronological order of events that has gotten us to this point. We started the week understanding that something was put in the plan for all of our lives that would be the greatest thing we could ever have happen to us. Next we see prophecy that speaks of the coming of our Savior hundreds of years before He was to be born. Later we are introduced to the Savior King – Jesus Christ and although He came into the world, there were still many who wouldn’t accept or make room from Him in their lives. Then we find out what it means for us to accept His truth in our lives and how we should proceed in that knowledge; continuing in the good works/deeds that Him performed that He may shine through our lives and be ultimately given the highest honor and glory, not just for His example to us, but His continual journey along with us! Now we see how to sustain that very action until the day of His return. Of course these aren’t the only things that will keep us in striving for hearts like Christ but they are a great start to maintaining a mindset that will make God the priority of our lives. Let’s examine them shall we…..
The scripture points us to rejoicing in hope. This is very obtainable and essential in continuing the cause of Christ. In simple terms, if you don’t have anything to hope in or look forward to, why would you be happy or rejoice? As our knowledge grows and matures in Christ, His love for us, and His nature, it’s impossible to have an encounter with Him and not be hopefully glad or expectant about your future. You can rejoice and constantly be glad because your hope for the future is now assured by the blood of Christ and is sealed with promise of God (2 Peter 1:1-4)! Who couldn’t be happy about that?
Also we get to a point when we are able to persevere through anything! Trust, true trust in the Word of God is the only thing that can produce a supernatural ability to weather any storm in life that you may encounter. You say, “how can I persevere through hardships, let downs, disappointments, failures, and all of that?” The only way is by knowing that God is the sole and ultimate authority and that even Jesus suffered while on earth. Since He suffered, we share in His sufferings too (2 Cor. 1:3-7 & 1 Peter 4:12-13). It is a privilege to be grouped in with the likes of Christ and knowing that He has all power to resurrect any and all of our dead situations, we have strength enough to endure whatever because even if situations and circumstances kill us; we will live and rise to life again in Christ!
Lastly we have to keep the lines of communication open. Jesus died on the cross so that we could be BACK in a relationship with God; that means full access to Him once again. With that in mind we now have the ability to not only hear from God but to speak to Him as well; and we know that He will hear our prayers because Christ intercedes for us in making sure He delivers our prayers personally (Rom. 8:34-39) as He sits at God’s right hand! It’s a guarantee! If we have really genuinely given ourselves over to Christ’s authority, nothing should be able to stop our love, devotion, or communication with God! It is available for all – so what are you ready to do about your relationship with God through Christ?
Today as this week ends, we have seen a sequence of evidence that details the plan for our eternal lives and shows us what our response to the truth should be, how it should look, and what we do in total belief of those facts. We pray that no matter what your ideas are, that the truthful seed of the Word of God settles into your heart, begins to grow and sprout, and eventually produces a harvest in your life that you give God glory, honor and praise for because you know it was only by His power that you have received anything and everything. May God bless you all! In Jesus’ name, AMEN!
