DaySpring Daily Word of Inspiration: Matthew 5:9 – Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
You know that you will be considered the child of someone. What you have to decide is do you want to be the child of the father you were born unto or do you want to be adopted into God’s family?
As we journey through this week let’s examine the simplicity of our actions making (or attracting) someone look for Christ or having those same actions push them away from Christ. Which one are you CURRENTLY doing? When people see your example of the “peace that surpasses all knowledge” do they see Jesus? Do they see something that they want to imitate? Are they convicted by their own actions and want to change or find out how you did it? OR……. Do they look at you how they look at anyone else in this world? Do they see themselves and you’re just like them?
Heads up folks, if people can’t or don’t see you as someone different than the world (and you proclaim Christ) why would they want to change who and how they are? If you’re completely just like everyone else and not getting any better, where is the power of Christ working in your life? As a child of God, we resemble the life, characteristics, and traits of our Father in heaven. We look up to our big brother Jesus and should aspire to be like him! As children of obedience, we should look, act, respond, and conduct ourselves within the realm of teaching of our Father in heaven.
When we look like a child of disobedience it’s hard to convince someone that you’re a child of God. Basically, you can’t be the fire-starter in situations or the hot-head when it’s about to “go down” and expect people to be excited about the God you serve.
You’re making God look like an out of control, angry and destructive being; in that case, you’re not looking like God at all! Keeping the peace not only in volatile situations but in your home, on your job and everywhere you go is essential in upholding the standards of Christ-like living.
Being a model of Jesus takes work, but anything worth its weight takes work….. that’s why we toil in our daily lives, right? Why cut God short on that which he wants you to work at? If you’re His child, you should be willing to do whatever and anything to please your Father. This earthly life produces children, the more important concern should be whose child do you want to be?
Let’s work at our peace today and throughout this week. Our prayer today is that if you’re a child of God the fruit of peace is more than evident in your life from this day forth and that it attracts people to God. Have a blessed day and be well. In Jesus’ name, AMEN!
