Jeremiah 17:7-8

DaySpring Daily Word of Inspiration: Jeremiah 17:7-8 – “But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream.

Is your life a refreshing drink of water to others? Do people seek you out to get “godly” advice? Do people trust in your ability to give them the truth in love but still be official enough not to sugar-coat the harsh realities of a situation? Today’s passage helps us to see that there is a way to be a wellspring for others. How do I get to be one who others can be blessed through? Be fully planted/rooted in the Lord with your confidence solely in him!

Who and what we put our trust in or dedicate ourselves to says a lot about what we care about and what we’ll stand for. If you’re dedicated to personal ambition, people will know that by your “me first” attitude and lack of caring for others. If you’re known for being a great helper, people will continue to seek you out for words of encouragement or help moving. On the other side, you could be known as one who is calm, at peace, and unaffected by life’s pitfalls. Who knows you for trusting in God’s word and being dedicated to His will for your life? I submit to you today, even if people don’t know you for being dedicated to Christ, there should be some obvious displays from your life that point to Jesus. What do those displays look like?

The word says that a person is blessed whose confidence and trust are in the Lord. Now you hear the word blessed and immediately you think “MONEY”! Slow down turbo, blessed here is the manifestation of godly attributes that have your actions, speech, motivation and thoughts rooted firmly in godly soil that is planted directly next to a free flowing stream. This stream of water is the overflowing love, commands and principles from God’s word. It replenishes us and keeps us growing and producing fruit for others to live and eat from – but he is the source. Being blessed in this texted isn’t based on the things one has or has available to them, it is based on what one has been secured within because that is what supplies our confidence, strength, and determination; it also how others are blessed.

So today we get practical. Are you producing fruit that is nourished by God or are you feeding folks empty substance foods that add nothing to their lives? Be confident in Christ. Get rooted in his word and he will bless your life. It’s not always a tangible item that will be a blessing but it will be something you can use to help others be blessed. Let us walk with our heads up today and give the Lord our confidence so that in his desires to bless our lives, we will experience blessings in abundant ways! In Jesus’ name, AMEN!
