DaySpring daily Word of Inspiration: Isaiah 45:5 – 6 – I am the Lord, and there is no other; apart from me there is no God. I will strengthen you, though you have not acknowledged me, so that from the rising of the sun to the place of its setting people may know there is none besides me. I am the Lord, and there is no other.

There is only one God! Period! Sometimes I believe we think that we are in control of our lives, our destinies and the like. Unfortunately, things never quite turn out the way WE plan for ourselves. Have you ever notice that when you make plans, they don’t always happen as you hoped or ever happen at all? Have you said to yourself, “Well I did everything right, why isn’t this happening?!” Maybe the fact is that we have put faith in ourselves to come through on something that we can’t control in the first place. But here’s the kicker, when it doesn’t happen……. We blame God! But didn’t you want the control???

Who told you that’s what God wanted you to do?

There is only one God!! When we try to take the reign of our lives, we are saying that we are in control; WE ARE GOD. I have to be honest with us today, you don’t know what you’re doing with your life. If you did, mistakes would be null and void. However, we want the control and the acknowledgment that we are the source of what manifests in our lives. There is no problem with having goals and wanting to achieve things in life, but if there not directed by the one true God, they might be distractions to keep you from God. Remember, the devil has power too. His power is used to keep you from doing God’s will and stay separated from God. The scripture says “apart from me there is no God”. So if you’re not a god or GOD and you’re not doing God’s work or the work He’s purposed for you, do you think you’re running your own ship? Who do you really think is in control of your life?

There is only one God!!! God will make himself known to all that he is in control and he is the only God. The question before us today is how do we want to find out? Do you want to surrender and acknowledge him now? Or do you want to hold out and continue to do things our own way? One way or another every knee shall bow. We can be strengthened by God and led under his control or we can wing it for the rest of our lives thinking that we’ve got it right. Will your knee bow willingly or by force?

Our prayer today is that you acknowledge you are not in command but that you need a commander who can direct you around the pitfalls of life and keep you safe……from yourself. Our lives in our hands – the outcome is a mystery and certainly unknown. Our lives in God’s hands – equals hope, life, and a promise of eternity with him. Which do you want; uncertainty or a faithful promise?

There is only one GOD and we praise him for how he works and displays himself in our lives. Father we acknowledge you as the only God. Let us live in that knowledge and grow in that truth so that the evidence is seen through our lives. In Jesus’ name, AMEN!
