DaySpring Daily Word of Inspiration: Colossians 3:15 – Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.
The believers of Christ are a family. In this family there should be some common characteristics that distinctly acknowledge you are from Christ’s family. One of those attributes is peace. The meaning of peace over the years has been downgraded in some instances to “no war”. Biblically speaking, peace is an attribute of freedom. It’s the freedom to love, to give without worry, to help restore others and ultimately to show others that they can have freedom in their lives. Being a part of Christ is representing a family (one body) that displays that very peace. Through faith, continued mediation of God’s word and fellowshipping with the body of Christ, your peace should be increasing. There’s a saying most of us are familiar with; “If you’re not growing, you’re dying”. This saying should ring even more true in the Christian lifestyle. One of the ways that showcases you’re growing in Christ – namely in your peace, is if your thoughts on situations and circumstances have changed. Remember when you couldn’t pay that bill with your old mindset. You worried about losing your possession. You had anxiety about the situation. Well with Christ and faith that he can get you out of your mess, you should have a resolve that points to God and knowing He can make a way….and even if he doesn’t he is still faithful and helping you. Sometimes it’s a just lesson I should be learning from this trial. This is peace. The fact that your world could be falling down all around you means nothing when your knowledge of the gospel has your spirit at ease. This is PEACE.
In this life there will always be problems, setbacks and disappointments. The question is, as a Christian believer, how are you handling the situation? Are you taking matters into your own hands or are you trusting in God (as you profess you do with your mouth) and being at peace in spirit so you can hear from God?
How you react to the situations in your life will showcase to others that either our God is weak and unable to help us or that he is mighty, above all and in full control. Will you attract someone to our mighty God or push them away because you’ve made him look weak? Who wants to follow a weak leader?
Our prayer today is that we stop making Christ look weak and vulnerable. Allow his peace to permeate through you and watch how you can give God the glory as people recognize he is in control and that’s why your peace is complete. Have an amazing day and blessings to you all. In Jesus’ name, AMEN!
