DaySpring Daily Word of Inspiration: 1 Cor. 4:20 – For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power.
If you have been blessed by any of the daily words of inspiration, we thank God. More importantly, we want these daily reflections, meditations or whatever you refer to them as to affect your life. When we study the bible, go to bible study, attend church, have small groups and the like it is not for the mere amusement of being entertained. The Kingdom of God isn’t just an act. There is absolute power in his establishment.
Your life as a Christian should be filled with an ever changing landscape of your mindset, the folks you hang around and the way you conduct yourself in all situations. If this isn’t happening in your life, maybe you could be doing more talking than action.
People frequently have a problem with Christian living because they don’t see the power of Christ at work in your life….even though you constantly talk about him… Who wants to follow after or obey a powerless god? It comes back to the main point of “how are you making God look to others”?
If there is no power in your life from following Christ, there is a problem – PERIOD!!! We can’t keep making excuses in what others are doing or not doing when we know what it is the God expects us to do! You can’t worry about or control what others do, but you can worry and control what you do! The power of living as a child of God is ALWAYS evident!!! Even in your bad times, if you’re secure in Christ you have a greater joy because you understand what God may be doing in your life for the advancement of His kingdom.
Today, let’s stop all of the chatter about “how good God is” or “God knows my heart” and let’s start living in a way that showcases we’re allowing our actions to speak louder than our words. When I was growing up there used to be a saying, “Don’t talk about it, be about it!”
We pray that this message moves you to be a doer in God’s kingdom and not just a talker so that his power may shine through your life for all to see. Have a great rest of the day and let’s get to work! In Jesus’ name, AMEN!!!
